Estate of Panic Review

Estate of Panic

Wednesdays 10pm EST Sci-Fi Channel

“In a remote land there is a legend about this grand estate with tales of incredible riches hidden within but the house does not want to give it up…”

Estate of Panic premiered Wednesday November 12th following Ghost Hunters on the Sci-Fi Channel. This show is hosted by Steve Valentine who was formerly on the  television series Crossing Jorden. Steve Valentine is a gifted illusionist as well as a well rounded actor. This time he is on a creepy game show that is a crazy wild ride of excitement and hysteria.

Estate of Panic is set in an old stately mansion. Seven contestants participate and the rules are simple. Each room they are sent to is loaded with cash ranging from one dollar bills to hundred dollar bills. If a contestant is the last one to leave a room they are locked in and out of the game. Also the contestant who collects the least amount of money is eliminated. So two players are lost for each room.

The twist to this is that the rooms are filled with unknown terrors as well as treasure.  Anything could be awaiting behind each door including walls that close in, snakes, electrical shocks and floods of icy water. As for me personally, I wouldn’t do it unless I was so broke I was selling my own blood :) However being a fan of reality TV and a viewer of Fear Factor, I found this show irresistible. I think it could have some real staying power if they are creative enough to keep it fresh and delightfully insane.

Steve Valentine is assisted by his butler on the show, Rupert, who collects and counts the money. The last person is placed in a vault where the compartments are filled with money and surprises both bad and good. Escaping the vault in the allotted time gives the winner all the money collected by everyone throughout the whole show.

I think this show is a winner.

This show is wild. It makes your worst fears come true. I do not know if any money would make me do some of the things these people do and go through. LOL

  2. Oh yeah this show is insane! Most people think I like snakes because I named the site Paranormal Python, but I don’t LOL. Snakes give me the heebies. I’m about as bad a Zak on the Ghost Adventures episode from the old prison in Idaho LOL. I wanted a catchy name that people would remember and Paranormal Penguin just wasn’t right somehow haha.
